A Special Skiff for the 2009 Japan International Boat Show (Mar12-15 2009 Yakohama)
The Canal Boat Club dealership in Hamamatsu, Japan, organizes an outreach program for handicapped persons and children to teach them boating safety and enjoyment. They hold regular events like a "Children's Experience Cruise" and a "Skiff Party" for physically handicapped persons.
This is the fifth year of their program and they plan expand by adding better wheelchair access to their boats. They are working to customize their Skiff with a side door and ramp for wheelchair access. They will be showcasing this boat at the 2009 Japan International Boat Show under the theme of "A boat that contributes to society."
The community involvement of the Canal Boat club has also helped to create a sense of community for Skiff owners who are proud to own a Skiff and be associated with the good things that the Canal Boat Club is doing for their community.
